What Is Microblading & Ombre BrowsMicroblading is a manual process of implanting color pigment into the skin using tiny sterile needles to produce the appearance of natural looking hair strokes. Ombre Powder Brows are created using a small tattoo machine called a rotary pen. This technique differs from Microblading in that we create a misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup, as opposed to simulated hair. The tails of the brow are darker, and fade into a light start to the brow, giving that perfect Ombre makeup affect where brows look very soft and natural.
-
Who Is It For?Microblading and/or powder brows is a great solution if you have faint or naturally fine brows. Or no brows at all. These methods are ideal for anyone who is not happy with their eyebrows and wants to enhance the look of their brows. The effects will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely realistic.
-
Does It Hurt?We realize that everyone’s ability for bearing pain is different therefore we apply a two-part topical anesthetic before and during the procedure to numb the affected area to ensure that you are comfortable and feel as little to no pain as possible. Many clients have stated that the pain is similar to getting their eyebrows threaded or waxed.
-
How Long Does The Appointment Last? The appointment is usually between 2-3 hours depending upon the brow artist.
-
Am I A Good Candidate?Microblading/Ombre Powder Brows /Hybrid Brows is not recommended for the following clients: -You are pregnant or nursing. You are currently using Accutane (must be off product for six months) You are currently using Retinol/Retin-A products near your brow area (must be off product for six months) You had recent botox (must wait at least 4 weeks after botox to get brow service. You are on blood thinners and cannot stop their use for 2 weeks. You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring. You are currently getting cancer treatments Additionally, if any of the below apply to you, permanent make-up MIGHT not retain well for you: (the below are still able to get the service however you MAY experience color retention issues. You have oily/combo skin and/or large pores on your forehead permanent makeup may not last as long for you. Meaning you may need touch-ups/color boosts more often than someone with dry skin. You are a smoker (pigment will not retain properly, colors may distort). You have an auto-immune disease. You have Diabetes type 1 or 2 (due to slow healing color may not retain well). How Should I Prepare For My Appointment? If you have reference photos please feel free to bring these to your appointment. If you wear makeup on your brows on a daily basis, please come in how you would normally wear them on the day of your appointment. This will give your brow artist an idea of the color & shape that you like. Do not thread/wax/tweeze your brows at least 7 days prior to your appointment. Your brow artist will shape your brows for you during your appointment. Do not work out the day of your appointment. You cannot take any medications that can thin your blood (i.e. Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E)before or immediately after your procedure. Do not drink alcohol before your procedure. Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment.
-
Is a Consultation Needed Prior To Scheduling an Appointment?Brow consultations are actually done the day of your appointment therefore there is no need for a consultation prior. The day of your appointment your Brow Artist will discuss brow shape and color with you. Your Brow Artist will pre-draw your eyebrows on with eyebrow pencil so that you are able to customize your new brow shape to your liking before the actual service begins.
-
Is It Safe?Yes. Your procedure will be performed by a State of Virginia Licensed Permanent Cosmetic Tattooist. The Glam Life Beauty Bar observes the strictest standards of cleanliness and adheres to OSHA regulations. We only use pigments specifically formulated for permanent makeup in accordance with the FDA.
-
How Is Brow Shape And Color Decided? We will analyze your skin type and undertones as well as brow color, hair color, natural growth patterns, bone structure and will also take into consideration how you normally shape or fill your brows. With my professional opinion and your preferential input, we will design and shape a custom brow that is natural and flattering to you.
-
Is It Possible To Cover My Old Tattoo Brows? If you have previous permanent makeup on your eyebrows please email a photo of your current eyebrows before scheduling an appointment to determine if we will be able to service you. Email: info@theglamlifebeautybar.com
-
What Can I Expect After My Procedure?1- After your procedure, it is normal to experience swelling, redness, itchiness, dryness and flaking. Also, the color of your eyebrows will look darker after your procedure however up to 50% of the darkened color will fade. 2- We will provide you with aftercare ointment and instructions following your procedure. It is highly recommended to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results.
-
How Long Does It Last?Microblading, Ombre Powder & Hybrid Brows are considered semi-permanent thus the color will eventually fade over time. Each skin type will hold pigment differently so final results cannot be guaranteed. Typically, microblading can last between 12-18 months, hybrid up to 2 years and ombre powder brows can last up to 2-3 years. Please keep in mind that smoking and certain medications can cause premature fading of color.
-
How Often Will I Need A Touch-Up?A touch up is recommended 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the shape and color. We recommend scheduling touch ups yearly to keep your color fresh however frequency of touch ups depend upon skin type, sun exposure, pigment color (lighter pigments tend to fade faster) and a person’s lifestyle.
